These Chickpea Sweet Potato Fritters are a delicious, wholesome blend of boiled chickpeas and mashed sweet potato, seasoned with coconut powder, peanuts, garlic, chili garlic powder, black pepper, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt. Baked until golden brown and crispy on the outside, they are naturally satisfying, nutrient-dense, and packed with bold flavor.

The chickpeas provide plant-based protein and fiber, while sweet potatoes add natural sweetness, complex carbs, and a soft, creamy texture. Peanuts bring crunch and richness, and the warming Indian spices create depth without the need for oil or refined ingredients. These fritters are vegan, oil-free, and refined sugar–free, making them perfect for clean, everyday eating.

Ideal as a healthy snack, protein-rich appetizer, or light meal, these fritters pair beautifully with salads, bowls, or your favorite dips and sauces. If you’re looking for healthy baked fritters, chickpea sweet potato patties, or a plant-based protein snack, this recipe delivers comfort and nourishment in every bite.

Served hot with my Pink High Protein Sauce, together they make a great, healthy combination!

Instructions

  1. Add boiled chickpeas and boiled sweet potatoes to a large mixing bowl.

  1. Mash them together until well combined. (You can also use a food processor on pulse mode for a better, even texture.)

  1. Add coconut powder, peanuts, coriander powder and chopped garlic to the mixture.

  1. Add spices: turmeric, chili garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.

  1. Mix everything thoroughly until the mixture is evenly combined.

Shape the mixture into round fritters, keeping them slightly thick with good body (not too thin) so they turn crispy outside and soft inside.

  1. Place the fritters on a lined baking tray.

Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway if needed, until both sides are golden brown and crispy.

  1. Remove from the oven and serve hot with my Pink High-Protein Sauce for the perfect pairing.
